ToZ Translation: Translators guide

Note: The screenshots and interface shown in this guide may differ from what you see, as the platform is actively developed and the UI may change with new features or fixes.

This guide covers the few steps required to translate and post pages on the ToZ Translation platform. Open it at t.templeofzeus.org and sign in with your email address and password.

The top-right menu

Once logged in, all of the accessibility and work features are in the top-right corner of the screen: Projects, Profile, a light/dark theme toggle, and the account menu.

The account icon on the far right opens a menu with a link to the Docs page (information about the platform and how it works), a Settings option, and Logout.

Settings

Settings lets you change a small number of preferences, such as the font size and whether auto-save and notifications are enabled.

The toggle next to the account icon switches the platform between dark and light theme.

The Profile option shows the details of your account.

Choosing what to translate

To start translating, click the Projects tab in the top-right corner.

This opens a page where the ToZ website is structured into its sections, listed as a grid on the home page. Click the section you want to translate.

The section opens to the individual pages it contains. Bigger sections, such as Meditation, spread their pages across several tabs - use the arrows at the bottom to move between them.

Translating a page

Once you open a page, the content is divided into blocks (paragraphs or structures). Translate each one by typing your translation into the empty block next to it.

Some paragraphs contain hyperlinks or formatted words (bold, italic, and so on). To apply a hyperlink, hold a click over the word(s) in your translation and press Select text to activate at the bottom-left of that block.

Focus and Preview modes

The toolbar gives you two viewing options, plus Save and Submit for Review.

  • Focus mode places each empty block directly under its English block.
  • Preview mode shows your translated page mirrored against the English page - best used once you have finished, to check everything looks right.

Saving and submitting

You can Save a page as a draft at any time and return to it later if you cannot finish in one go. When the page is fully finished, click the green Submit for Review button. This only works once all text is translated and all formatting (hyperlinks, bold, italic) has been applied. After submitting, return to the section and pick another page.

Translating with AI

To use the AI translator, open the page you want to translate and press Translate with AI in the top-right corner.

The translation takes a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the size of the page, during which a loading screen is shown.

When it finishes, the blocks are populated with the translation for each English paragraph, and formatting is added automatically. Always check the AI's translations closely to make sure they have been translated and formatted correctly, and intervene where needed.

Improving AI translations with the glossary

The AI works better with context. If a term has been translated inaccurately, use the glossary button at the bottom-right of the screen after running the AI.

In the Add to Glossary menu, enter the original English term and its correct translation in your language. To fix several terms, press + Add another term, then press Send to Glossary when you are done.
